The following describes search criteria and other functions available on the
Text Search Interface.

- Scale: Restrict the scale of the maps returned in a search to those that:
(Default is no restriction)
- have a Large scale larger greater than 1:100,000.
- have a Medium scale between 1:100,000 and 1:500,000.
- have a Small scale less than 1:500,000.
- have a user specified scale. Do not use commas when indicating the scale.
- Publication Date: restrict the map's publication date either by:
- indicating the date it was published by entering a date in the First
or only year field or
- (not yet available) indicating a starting date in the First or only
year and an ending date in the Ending year field inclusive.
- Publisher: Restrinct the maps returned by the agency who published the map.
The agencies are limited by those listed in the selector. (Default is no restriction).
