Introduction:
Welcome to the Alaska Geology Map Indexer. The purpose of this application is to portray the
locations of geologic maps from all government agencies in a single, interactive Internet-accessible
location. In addition, since types of geologic maps vary widely in both the types of
information contained and the level of detail, some attempt has been made to classify the
geologic maps into relatively standard categories. This information will make it easier for
the public and government agencies to easily find the geologic maps they need to make informed
decisions.
